Oral Cancer Screening Using Blue Light Fluorescence Technology

Study results reported in The Journal of American Dental Association have indicated that a normal visual oral examination may not be sufficient to identify cancer and pre-cancer tissues at the early, life saving stage.  We at Dental Praxis Cham have  adopted the newest
blue light fluorescence technology to provide our patients the best cancer screening exam possible.  Fluorescence technology uses a blue light (435–460 nm) that allows a clinician to identify oral cancer, pre-cancer and other abnormal lesions at an earlier stage, thus saving lives. Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays make diagnosing dental problems easier, faster, safer, more accurate, and far more biologically conscientious than ever before. The images taken using digital x-rays are very clear and highly accurate, allowing for the early detection and treatment of dental health concerns. Digital x-rays provide instant results, meaning patients do not have to wait for old-fashioned x-ray films to be developed. As an additional bonus, digital x-rays reduce your exposure to potentially harmful radiation by almost 90% when compared to traditional film x-rays and eliminate the hazardous waste produced while processing film. Patients simply close their mouths on digital sensors while our computers process the images within seconds.

CBCT 3D Imaging Technology

Dr. Ianev may have advised you that you need to have a cone beam scan. A dental cone beam CT scan, otherwise known as Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), is a diagnostic scan that utilizes 3D dental imaging.

3D imaging is an impressive development in dental diagnostic technology and gives superior views over the usual 2D imaging technology. Using a computer, X-rays, and a single scan, Dr. Ianev may take high-quality 3D images of your soft tissue, gums, teeth and nerve pathways.  Dental cone beam CT scans provide clear 3D Images of the complexity of the maxillofacial region.  The scan collates images for a complete dental evaluation or review of a small section of your facial bones.
Digital Panoramic X-Ray System: CS 8100 3D

The CS 8100 3D is a powerful and easy-to-use 2D/3D imaging system that makes 3D technology simple. Combining award-winning 2D imaging with the power of 3D, the CS 8100 3D covers a broad range of applications and is ideal for daily use. The CS 8100 3D offers the highest image quality and makes 3D imaging more accessible—truly putting powerful imaging technology within everyone’s reach. The CS 8100 3D is capable of Low Dose and cephalometric imaging with new 3D applications.

Digital Smile Imaging

Digital smile imaging combines digital photography with advanced computer software programs to allow patients to preview the results of their cosmetic, periodontic, orthodontic, or restorative dental procedures before any work is done.
Dental Lasers

The use of lasers in dentistry is a relatively new advent. Dental lasers can be used in the treatment of tooth decay, gum disease, biopsy and lesion removal, and teeth whitening procedures. In dentistry, different types of lasers serve several unique functions. When used in surgical dental procedures, lasers act as a cutting instrument. Lasers can also be used to "cure" or "set" a filling by strengthening the bond between the restoration and the natural tooth. Lasers are also used to enhance the effects of in-office whitening systems.

Dental Praxis Cham uses diode laser systems. These advanced dental laser systems allow us to offer a variety of safe, minimally invasive, and virtually pain-free diagnostic and treatment options.

Diode Soft Tissue Laser: We use our diode laser to treat soft tissue problems such as gum disease and to perform minor surgical procedures. Because the diode laser is a precision instrument that emits pulses of energy too quickly to cause a neural response, the patient typically experiences no pain. It stops bleeding, seals lymphatic and nerve endings, and minimizes inflammation. Many procedures can be performed without anesthesia, and most patients report minimal to no post-operative discomfort.

Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral cameras allow our doctors and professional staff to transmit crystal-clear images of the inside of your mouth to a monitor, allowing for easier and more accurate diagnosis of potential oral health problems. Using special software, we are able to enlarge these images, freeze them, or view them in real time. This technology aids our dentists in explaining their diagnoses to patients during consultations. It also allows us to create accurate documentation of a patient's dental condition and obtain a quicker response from his or her insurer, who will have clear visual evidence to confirm the results of our diagnostic tests.

Autoclave Sterilization

An autoclave is a device that heats solutions above their boiling point, producing pressurized steam that effectively kills all micro-organisms. To prevent the spread of infection, we use autoclave steam to sterilize all of our instruments prior to performing dental work. Our sterilization practices exceed accepted standards, ensuring the safety of our patients and the cleanliness of our work environment.
Dental LED polymerization lamp

With the cordless S.P.E.C.3 LED polymerization lamp by Coltene the chair time for patients can be reduced due to rapid and deep polymerization on light-cured materials. Its multiple curing modes provide maximum functionality in any clinical situation. In particular, the 3K mode allows for a curing time of one second for 2mm of composite, making it ideal for Componeer placement or for time-sensitive circumstances such as pediatric cases or patients with gag reflex issues. Orthodontics mode cures an entire full-arch of brackets with two 3-second intervals per bracket.
